With the holidays right around the corner, I haven't had much time for anything but getting ready for Christmas. Plus I just got done with my finals a little over a week ago, and school was very hectic. Anyways, I hope to keep up with this blog a little better than I have. I just hope I have the time!
Speaking of time, I can't believe how time has flown by. There's only 5 and a half months til the wedding! We've been engaged for over 2 years now, so it's been a long time coming, but it feels like just last week when we hit the 1 years mark until the wedding. We still have so much to do! I'm starting to panic because I had gotten so much done over the summer and then school started and I hit a brick wall. Hopefully now I'll find time to get everything done!

Invites designed and ready to print!
I'm sooo in love with our invites. I designed them completely myself a few months ago and finished designing the inserts this weekend I'm so happy with the way they came out. Here's a few pictures. Hope you like them :)
Here they are all folded up with the belly band around them. I love how you can see the pink through the black organza :)

Here they are all opened up. (I colored in the ribbon while editing the picture because the only ribbon I had on hand was the 1 1/2" organza with stain edging that we're using for the belly bands, but for inside we'll have 1" black satin)
Here's a close up of the actual invitation
This is the design of the reception insert. This and all the other inserts on the green paper will be printed in all black to go with our black accent theme
Our accommodations insert will also be on the green cardstock
This is the front of the RSVP postcards that I had printed at VistaPrint during one of their giveaways. LOVE them!

And finally, the map I made and directions to the church
I'm going to print them all out this weekend and have them cut at Staples. Then it's on to assembly.

Updates!
I haven't posted in a long time, so I figured it was time to update. We ended up moving our reception to a local fire hall because of our original venue trying to change the prices after we signed the contract. So hopefully there will be less stress now!
Last week my mom and I went out and picked up a tons of supplies for all the DIY projects, so I've started on some of those and should have pictures to post as they get completed. Keep checking back for those :)
I've had a ton of cake topper orders! I really di
dn't think I was going to sell any there for a while, but I guess the word is getting out now. Here are some pictures of the newest orders:
Sorry about the bad quality pic of the second one! I have no idea why it's like that!

Wedding planning is becoming stressful (ALREADY)
We've had our reception venue booked and the contract signed since March. It's a country club that is absolutely beautiful.
Well today, we got a letter in the mail saying that the prices of the food were going up by 50% starting January 1st. Apparently, they are saying we only have a contract that only booked the date (a $500 deposit for the tent that we don't even have to pay for? just doesn't make sense), and that contract didn't lock in any prices, even though we have a hand written break down of all the fees and prices for 200 guests that was given to us by the coordinator who was there at the time.
Anyway, my parents went over to talk to the coordinator (a different one than the one we signed the contract with) since I'm down at school during the week. Earlier, she had called and talked to the coordinator and he had given her an attitude and told her basically to go to the grocery store and look at the prices of everything and stop complaining. So, my dad and her went over to talk to him in person and show him all the documentation that we have that supports that we are locked in at the original prices. When they got there, the guy was much nicer to them and basically said that we have a good case. He has to meet with the rest of the staff and bring it up to them and they are supposed to get back to us by the end of the week. So, I'll be crossing my fingers that they see things our ways, otherwise, we'll be going somewhere else. I'm to the point where this is becoming more trouble than it is worth. We didn't pick this venue because it was a country club, we picked it because it was a great price and were counting on that.
So, I guess I'll be posting when we hear something back. *fingers crossed*

I know I just posted, but I figured I'd catch everyone up on what we already have done for the wedding. So here goes:
-colors picked out (pink and green with black accents)
-church booked
-reception booked
-my dress
-bridesmaids' dresses
-save the dates
-mock up of the invites
-mock up of the programs
-cake topper made (DIY)
-centerpieces started
-florist booked
-DJ booked

I have a TON more planned, and much of it is started already. Most of it is DIY, and I'll be posting pictures as I complete more and it gets closer to the big day.
This is the link to my Knot bio. It goes into a lot more detail and some of the pictures are posted on there already. Feel free to check it out :)
First post
Hi everyone! I'm Aimee and I'm engaged to my best friend, Patrick. We are getting married on June 5, and we can't wait. We've been together for just under 4 years now, and engaged for almost 2 of those years. I'm going to be posting on this blog and talking about my ideas and showing what I have done for the wedding. I can't wait to really start posting, and I hope you enjoy reading about my plans :)
